Pg 2

Whenever we were in UK/London, we would like to pay a visit to a family whom we know for nearly thirty years – the Yaws. David had worked with me in Malaysia in the 90s. His wife Arlette is French and they had adopted two children in Malaysia, Katherine and Daniel. David’s hometown is in a village called Hothorpe, near Worksop in Nottingham. His mother, Betty, in her 80s is still staying in the ancestral house in Hothrope. David has a house in Putney, just south of London City. He now works in Dubai. Incidentally, when we were in London this time he was on leave and came back to London for a couple of days before going to Germany with Arlette to attend a wedding. We went to Putney to see them on 12th Aug.

In the afternoon David took us all to Richmond Park, quite close to his house for a stroll. The weather was good and we all enjoyed it very much.

Richmond Park is an ancient royal hunting park and one of London’s most splendid open spaces. It is about 1,000 ha in size and is accessible by car. There are ponds and lakes swarming with ducks and ducklings. There are deer roaming freely under the old oak trees.

We left the Yaws after dinner in a Chinese restaurant in Putney. Thanks, David.
